Terms and Conditions of Use

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Global Emergency Tracker (GET) mobile and web applications (collectively referred to as the “GET App”). By accessing or using the GET App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app immediately.

1. Definition of GET

GET stands for Global Emergency Tracker, an AI-powered emergency response framework developed to enhance global preparedness, early detection, and coordinated response to public health and other global threats.

2. Purpose and Scope

The GET App is designed for research, educational, and humanitarian purposes. It provides early detection capabilities, secure data sharing, and situational awareness for emergencies, including pandemics, natural disasters, climate crises, and conflicts. It is not intended for commercial, clinical diagnosis, or emergency medical use.

3. Thematic Areas

The GET App integrates and analyses data across the following thematic areas:

  • Pandemic Data: Analyses disease trends using online symptom search trends and related signals to support early warning of disease outbreaks.

  • Human Impact (Morbidity & Mortality Data): Tracks morbidity and mortality to monitor public health threats and humanitarian crises.

  • Climate Variability: Monitors environmental changes and potential impacts, including floods, cyclones, and wildfires.

  • Conflicts: Incorporates data to assess human security risks and conflict-related impacts.

  • Natural Disasters: Includes data on earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural disasters.

  • AI-Generated Alerts: Employs artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect anomalies, predict emerging threats, and generate automated alerts to relevant stakeholders and users.

4. Availability

The GET App is accessible via mobile and web platforms. Availability and functionality may vary depending on user location, network conditions, and device compatibility.

5. Disclaimer of Liability

The GET App and all related data, including AI-generated alerts and visualizations, are provided “as is” and “as available.”
While the GET team has made every effort to source information from reliable and publicly available datasets (e.g., WHO, CDC, NOAA, UNHCR, ACLED, and other reputable institutions), the team does not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any content.
Users acknowledge that:

  • Data presented within the GET App may be derived from third-party public sources and linked to their original repositories for verification.

  • Information provided by the GET App is for informational purposes only and not a substitute for professional advice or emergency response systems.

  • The GET team, its developers, and affiliated partners shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or consequence arising from reliance on or use of the data or analysis presented in the GET App.

 

  1. Non-Commercial Use

The GET App is a non-commercial public good, developed solely for the advancement of public health, research, and global safety. It is not intended for sale, profit, or monetization.

7. Intellectual Property and Reuse of Information

All original content, analyses, algorithms, and visualizations generated by the GET App are protected under applicable intellectual property laws.

  • Users may reuse information from the GET App for non-commercial purposes with appropriate attribution, citing:
    “Source: Global Emergency Tracker (GET)”

  • Commercial use, reproduction, modification, distribution, or derivative works based on GET content is strictly prohibited without written consent from the GET team.

  • Publicly available data displayed through the GET App remains the property of the respective data providers, and such ownership is acknowledged.

8. Data Privacy and Security

The GET App is designed with a strong commitment to data privacy, security, and transparency, incorporating blockchain security, decentralized identity management, and privacy-preserving computation techniques such as zero-knowledge proofs and differential privacy.
The system aligns with global regulatory principles, including GDPR, HIPAA, and emerging AI governance frameworks. No personally identifiable information (PII) is shared without explicit consent.

9. Ethical AI and Oversight

All AI components within the GET App follow principles of explainability, fairness, and accountability.

  • Model training data sources, limitations, and bias mitigation measures are transparently documented.

  • Regular fairness testing ensures equitable outcomes across demographic and geographic populations.

  • An independent Ethics and Oversight Board, comprising experts in public health, technology, ethics, and civil rights, reviews and audits system operations to maintain compliance and social responsibility.

10. Modifications to Terms

The GET team reserves the right to update or revise these Terms at any time without prior notice. Continued use of the GET App following the publication of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
