The Global Emergency Tracker (“GET”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is built with a deep  commitment to user privacy, safety, and trust. This Privacy Policy explains how GET  handles information while ensuring that no personal data is collected, stored,  retained, tracked, or shared. 

GET is developed by the Epsilon Team and the Global Futures Platform for Planet,  People and Peace (GP4PPP) as a non-commercial public good for humanitarian,  educational, and research purposes. 

  1. WE DO NOT COLLECT OR TRACK PERSONAL DATA 

GET does not collect, store, track, or process: 

  • Personal identity details 
  • Contact information (email, phone number, address) 
  • Health records or medical history 
  • Financial or payment information 
  • Identifiers linked to you or your device 
  • Cookies or tracking technologies 
  • Advertising identifiers 
  • Biometric data or sensitive personal information 

GET also does not create user profiles or track behavior across apps or websites. 

  1. INFORMATION PROCESSED DURING USE (NOT COLLECTED OR STORED) 

During app use, some temporary, non-identifiable information may be processed  only on your device to: 

  • Display relevant dashboards 
  • Provide localized information (e.g., weather, emergencies) 
  • Improve your in-app experience 
  • Tailor content based on your region or preferences 

Examples include:

2.1 Device or App Runtime Information (Temporary Only) 

  • App version 
  • Anonymous system performance (to prevent crashes) 
  • Display preferences or in-app settings 

This information is not transmitted to us, not stored, and not used to identify you. 2.2 Location Information (Optional) 

If you enable location services, GET may use your approximate location to: • Display nearby emergencies 

  • Show region-appropriate alerts or maps 

Your location: 

  • Is processed locally on your device 
  • Is not uploaded, saved, stored, or linked to any identity 
  • Is never shared with third parties 

You may disable location at any time. 

  1. WE DO NOT RETAIN ANY USER INFORMATION 

GET follows a strict zero-retention policy: 

  • Any information processed during app usage is not saved 
  • No logs containing user data are kept 
  • No analytic identifiers are generated 
  • No backup or cloud storage is used for user data 
  • No data is used for secondary purposes 

As soon as you close the app, all session-related data disappears. 

  1. WE DO NOT SHARE DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES 

Because GET does not collect or retain personal information, we cannot and do not: • Share data with third parties 

  • Sell or monetize user information
  • Use data for advertising, marketing, or profiling 
  • Transfer data internationally 

All third-party datasets inside the app (WHO, USGS, NOAA, etc.) are external public  sources. GET only displays these sources and does not exchange any data with them  about you. 

  1. PURPOSE OF ANY INFORMATION PROCESSING 

Any temporary, anonymous information processed while the app is running is used  solely to: 

  • Ensure features function correctly 
  • Provide the best possible user experience 
  • Display accurate, relevant, and timely emergency information 
  • Customize content responsibly and ethically 
  • Improve safety and situational awareness 

There is no secondary use, no repurposing, and no hidden tracking. 

  1. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY 

GET is safe for users of all ages because: 

  • No personal data is collected 
  • No tracking occurs 
  • No online interactions or profiles exist 

The app is rated 12+ only due to the nature of emergency-related content, not because  of data collection. 

  1. SECURITY 

Although GET does not store any personal data, we maintain strong security measures  to: 

  • Prevent unauthorized access 
  • Protect the integrity of real-time data feeds
  • Ensure safe and encrypted communication with public data sources 
  1. LINKS TO EXTERNAL SOURCES 

GET pulls information from official public sources (WHO, USGS, NOAA, etc.) only for  display. These sources have their own privacy policies, which apply only when you visit  their websites directly. 

  1. YOUR CHOICES AND CONTROLS 

You always control what the app can access: 

  • You can disable location at any time 
  • You can delete the app to stop all processing 
  • No account creation is required 
  • No personal data exists for you to request deletion of 
  1. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY 

Updates to this Privacy Policy will be reflected by changing the “Last Updated” date.  Because GET does not collect personal data, changes will only relate to clarity or  feature updates.
