The 5th cohort of Commonwealth Digital Health Fellows from Sri Lanka joined the P4PPP Initative. this cohort consited of 8 clinical health informatics porfessionals known as the delta team. Apart from their medical expertise they had a wide spectrum of expertise in domans such as digital health governance, policy making, medical education, promotion, data science. their primary focus was articulated around the restructuring P4PPP framework, research on existing tools, rewamping of the website and formalising the network of P4PPP initiative in the global audience.
In the era of rapid digital transformation, emerging technologies offer critical solutions to the complex challenges of our climate crisis and planetary emergency. This report outlines the scale of the emergency and emphasizes the need for scientific and technological solutions. It provides a summary of existing digital solutions for climate change and explores future opportunities from emerging technology through the lens of clinical health informatics. Five clinical health information professionals, known as the Gamma Team, have joined the CWCDH-Southampton Hub. Their expertise spans clinical experience and health informatics disciplines, with a primary focus on addressing the pressing issue of the climate crisis and planetary emergency in the era of big data and artificial intelligence. They contribute to the P4PPP initiative with a vision centered around clinical health information.
Moving forward, a key recommendation is to establish a secure digital app framework for rapid and coordinated responses to future pandemics. Despite the existence of various digital health solutions, they currently lack coordination for a systematic global health security response. The aim is to unite these solutions on the Digital Platform for Planet Place and People, creating a linked and strategic approach for modernizing public health operations. This initiative also facilitates the identification of priority areas for future development, incorporating open-access digital solutions discovered during the review. Eight new Digital Health Fellows from Sri Lanka have joined the CWCDH Southampton Hub. Combining clinical experience with expertise in health informatics disciplines, such as PACS, HIMS, EMR/EHR, information governance, information security, mobile apps, enterprise architecture, and research, they enhance the team's capabilities. P4PPP features a Digital Health solution evaluation framework, combining WHO guidelines, Digital Health Atlas, WHO Digital Categorization, MAPS Toolkit, and MEASURE Evaluation tools. Digital Health solutions meeting these criteria gain visibility on the platform. Download the report at Publications
P4PPP, the first virtual hub by CWCDH, aligns with the vision of digitalizing health systems based on the Commonwealth's Systems Framework for Health Policy. Launched on December 2, 2020, in collaboration with the InterAction Council, P4PPP focuses on creating and hosting digital Common Goods for building sustainable health systems.
On January 2, 2020, the initial cohort of Digital Health Fellows, the Alfa team, comprised of six clinical professionals from Sri Lanka, became part of the CWCDH-Southampton Hub. Their objectives include dedicating 50% of their time to advancing the P4PPP initiative for the common good and the remaining 50% to enhancing their career skills through digital project.
